So, we’re two meals in with our Blue Apron experience and so far, so good.
Friday night we breaded and fried chicken tenders – which we’ve never done before. We also made slaw and Japanese sweet potatoes and some sauce and dirtied every cutting board/pot/pan/mixing bowl/dish we own(!) but it was delicious.
And, we didn’t bicker at all. (Not that we usually do… it just seemed possible in the presence of so many “food prep stations” set up all over the kitchen.)
Then, to continue our date night, we did the dishes together:)
Then… to celebrate getting along so well, we assembled our new outdoor couch.
We had ordered all our new outdoor stuff from Wayfair and – because nothing can ever just be easy – they sent us one wrong set of cushion covers. (Although, I must say that was my first less than perfect Wayfair delivery – we’ve had great luck with them in the past.)
No worries, though, I called them and they’re going to ship some new covers and they told me I could “dispose” of the incorrect ones.
I plan to use the wrong cushions to set up Pearl’s little bed to match our couch. And while we wait for the third set of cushion covers to be delivered, Matt and I will just have to snuggle up on the 2/3 of the couch we do have.
(Sunday night’s Blue Apron was catfish and kale and lentils… I must have been half-asleep when I agreed to that meal option, but the fish was great and I ate (some of) the kale and lentils. Tonight is spiced chicken and garlic rice and looks delicious.)
Wow your a cook!
