Date Night in a Box…

Well, boxes – plural.

In our efforts to avoid our fellow Floridians this winter, Matt and I are preparing our house so we can hibernate until the snowbirds go back home. There are far too many people out on the roads, wandering the grocery store aisles, going out to eat, and snatching up the good seats at the movie theater – so we’re holing up for the winter.

Step 1: Make our house as awesome as possible.

We ordered (from Wayfair) a whole living room set-up for our back patio. A couch, a chair, an ottoman, a coffee table, and to complete the look – an adorable area rug. The perfect place to spend our slightly cooler evenings.

Step 2: Sustenance.

Our first Blue Apron box arrived this afternoon! Three meals – priced at $20/meal. Well… technically, six meals priced at $10 each since we both get to eat…. We can’t go out to eat for less than that…

This ought to be interesting since I’m a picky eater and tend to not like foods that are green or orange or purple and most of our meal choices were a combination of those colors. But maybe this whole experience will make me a better adult.

Our plans for tonight include cooking some fancy food and assembling our new couch. Two activities that I’m sure won’t result in any bickering…
